Polar Bear Contest
As a member of the Atlantic Canada Motormaids, you have first hand knowledge of how short our summers are, and how long our winters are, which unfortunately means a short riding season. Good news is here, the season doesn’t have to end when the leaves have fallen! At our 2009 year-end wrap-up meeting in Moncton several members discussed participating in a January 1st ride (barring a blizzard and details to follow) and one member shared that her husband challenges himself to ride at least once, every month.
So that’s the premise of this personal riding challenge for 2010, to ride your bike on at least one day of every month. It doesn’t have to be a long ride, but you have to take a photo of yourself on that day, with your bike, and note the date, KM’s ridden, and temperature. At next year’s wrap-up meeting, all the participants will be entered into a draw to win a fun prize! We’ll also post participant’s photos on the web-site throughout the year to keep folks motivated. So for everyone interested in the Polar Bear Riding Challenge for 2010 – get ready, get warm, and go!
